The side edges of the metal frame are slightly rounded, but generally much wider, so the smartphone lies firmly in the hand and does not slip out at all. Such a stylish mobile device is not a shame to get out of the pocket of an expensive jacket in any environment. The fingerprint scanner from the back has moved to the front, under the display glass. But there are no fewer elements behind either: there are three cameras, as well as a fairly bright two-color LED flash and autofocus sensors. The cutout on the front panel is teardrop-shaped, small and sleek. However, it only houses the peephole of the front camera, there is no IR sensor for creating a three-dimensional face map, like in the iPhone, that is, the face protection is not so reliable. Unlike the P30 Pro, which does not even have the usual earpiece slot, it has a completely traditional speaker hidden behind a grill. The frame around the screen is rather thin, the corners of the display itself are strongly rounded. But there are no rounds (bends) of the display glass, so there is no glare that interferes with the comfortable perception as in the Huawei P30 Pro. With the side hardware buttons, they also did not trick: they did not add extra keys, and you can call the Google Assistant by holding one of the available ones for a long time - what else is needed? The buttons themselves are large, with good travel, and are conveniently located, so there are no complaints about them. The tray for two Nano-SIM cards is hybrid; to install a memory card in it, you will have to sacrifice one of the SIM cards. All new Huawei devices have abandoned support for microSD memory cards, so you will have to look for a rare Huawei NM (Nano Memory) format card. A speaker was installed at the bottom, as well as a USB Type-C connector and a 3.5 mm audio output. Both connectors, according to the bad tradition of Huawei, of course, are not centered, it looks sloppy. However, the very presence of an audio headphone jack favorably distinguishes the regular P30 from the P30 Pro, as well as the fact that there is no danger of piercing the membrane of the spoken microphone, accidentally mistaking its hole for a hidden button to eject the card tray.
