Mazda Demio 2006 Silver

Review of the car owner Mazda Demio 2006 From Japan with an electric motor Today, most of the used car market is made up of domestic cars and foreign cars with "Russian" mileage. But it is possible to find a foreign car that is not familiar with Russian roads, and not only one that came to us from Europe. The creations of the Japanese car industry with right-hand drive, which are so loved in the Far East, also reach us. The subject of today's test is the 2006 Mazda Demio e-4WD hatchback with a range of about 50 thousand kilometers. And not simple, but all-wheel drive, which deserves the name "hybrid". The rear axle is driven by an independent electric motor. Externally, the car is quite modern and recognizable. Headlights "cut", a radiator grill, ribs on the hood are the family features of the latest generations of Mazda cars. Only from the side, the Demio looks a little unusual - the almost vertical tailgate makes it look like a shortened station wagon. The right-hand drive creates certain difficulties for us, but you can get used to everything. The Demio's  Mazda Demio 2006 Silver automatic gearbox makes it easier to get used to - there is no need to retrain to shift gears with your left hand. The biggest challenge for me was turning on the turn signal. For a long time I could not get used to the location of the lever on the right, more than once I turned on the wiper instead of turning. Otherwise, there are no complaints about the ergonomics of the driver's workplace. The seat seemed to be made for me - it does not press anywhere and fits perfectly. There is height adjustment, and the steering wheel is adjustable in two directions. Convenient, small steering wheel fits perfectly in your hand. The huge dials of the speedometer and tachometer are easy to read. Large climate control knobs are located on the center console within the driver's reach. However, they do not have to be used often - Demio is equipped with an automatic climate control system. The electric motor helps On the packed snow, Demio starts off with a slight slip, but accelerates confidently and without problems. The 4-speed "automatic" works smoothly and accurately. Even in kick down mode, the downshift delay is minimal. Manual mode of box control is not provided. But there are several special modes for driving in difficult conditions. S mode disables fourth gear. It is recommended for driving with frequent engine braking, such as on a winding mountain road. In L mode, the gearbox works only in first and second gears. It is needed on steep descents, ascents, off-road. An even tougher HOLD mode is activated with a button on the gear selector. When the selector lever is in D, the HOLD mode leaves only the second and third gears in the box - it is convenient when starting off on a very slippery surface. The combination of S-HOLD allows movement only in second gear, and L-HOLD - only in first gear. But all this is done for difficult conditions and off-road conditions, in the city there is enough normal mode D. But it is not harmful to connect the rear drive axle, just press a key on the panel. Now Demio drives off at intersections without slipping, despite the fact that the road is thoroughly "polished". The inclusion of the rear drive axle also affects handling. On front-wheel drive, the Demio has a lot of understeer - stubbornly trying to slide out of the corner. It reacts not very readily to gas discharge, slowly reducing the turning radius. The engaged rear axle noticeably reduces understeer when throttle is added and increases inward tendency when dumping. In a long corner, it is quite possible to control the trajectory, adding and releasing gas, without the help of the steering wheel. https://jiji.co.ke/ngara/cars/mazda-demio-2006-silver-pmJAqjF75P5I0MDDX1f6anTW.html
