Toyota C-HR 2.0 Hybrid in-depth review: a coupé-inspired crossover that has received a new hybrid system to be more powerful and more dynamic. How many contradictions, right? Well, it's time to measure overclocking and calculate consumption, discuss configurations and prices, and mark competitors. And, finally, to answer the question of the title: can this crossover be considered the most original, unusual, fascinating car of today in the Ukrainian Toyota model range?
The compact crossover Toyota C-HR debuted in 2016, and then the manufacturer said that the name of the C-HR model stands for Coupe High Rider - they say "coupe, only with a high position of the body." The design style of the novelty really came out quite dynamic, youthful, bold. So much so that this fuse was enough even before the planned update of the model: in 2019, the exterior and interior were changed o New Toyota C-Hr 2018 Black nly in small things. But the update brought us an important technical change: a powerful new hybrid version!
The Toyota C-HR crossover still exists in the first and only generation, the model has recently undergone a planned update - and received a powerful 184-horsepower hybrid version. It was such a car that became the hero of this material.
Rides softly! Moreover, this is not the softness that is "roll", but the softness that is "accuracy": the Toyota C-HR 2.0 Hybrid crossover is able to smoothly and clearly move over all uneven roads - that there are separate pits, that bumps / influx of asphalt, that road. At the same time, there is a minimum of vibrations in the cabin for the driver and passengers, there are no extraneous sounds of the suspension, and the soft tuning of the suspension did not lead to body swing or excessive roll (here, it seems, “thanks” to the low height should be said). Although comfort was in the nature of the C-HR before. But now there is also a convincing dynamic: the new hybrid is strong. Starting from a standstill is surprisingly easy, in acceleration on the move there is not even a shadow of hitch, which upsets most modern cars, tuned for the sake of the environment. To the mixed sounds of the electric motor and the rustle of the periodically turning on the internal combustion engine, the Toyota C-HR crossover is briskly gaining momentum. Moreover, if you find the "Sport" mode in the settings of the on-board computer, then to the convincing dynamics of the Toyota C-HR 2.0 Hybrid will be added a rather sharp setting of the accelerator pedal, as well as a slightly heavier steering wheel. This is what the Toyota C-HR 2.0 Hybrid is: a mixture of comfort and dynamics.
It is a pity, but the "sport" mode is disabled every time the power unit is restarted (although if you select "eco" mode, it remains on a permanent basis). Yes, and making the steering wheel heavier still does not increase the level of understanding with the car: there was a slight background effort, now it became heavier - that's all. Although the sharpness of the steering itself is well matched: a little less than three revolutions from lock to lock - this allows you not to cross your hands and not to "wrap around" the steering wheel. This average-neutral setting is lacking in brakes. You can make a mistake with the place of stopping, the deceleration intensity "floats". It seems that during braking, the hybrid system constantly adjusts the intensity of the electric motor recuperation and the activation of the stock brakes - but this does not always go smoothly, it takes some getting used to. And the car also lacks sound insulation: sometimes you can hear the rolling of the tire, at a speed of "100 km / h" aerodynamic noise is noticeable, and even when accelerating in the style of "gas to the floor", the sound of a gasoline engine penetrates the passenger compartment too clearly - and, moreover, this is not some that is a beautiful sound, just a monotonous squeal of an atmospheric engine at high revs.
The updated Toyota C — HR crossover is recognizable by the front bumper, new headlights and lanterns, and modified wheel disks. And version 2.0 Hybrid - also on the chrome edging on the rear bumper. The new hybrid system sets a new level of dynamics: the declared passport 8.2 seconds are confirmed by real measurements - even on winter tires and in far from the best road conditions. True, I would like more sil
